I invite viewers to inspect how the porous, transparent, or opaque surfaces in my work interact and become more complex in relation to one another. The different layers and processes involved in their making take shape one at a time, through consistent and meditative action. It is only when I step back as the artist and connect the strands of repetitive processes that the work takes its present shape.

I hope to bring attention to how physical material and abstract concepts grow and settle in daily life. I use the softness of textiles and organic shapes to weave together an encounter with color and material that could mirror emotion, sensation, and nature. While making I have contemplated ideas surrounding joy, shame, mental health, and their relationship to the body. Just as feelings bloom, fester, or disintegrate, so does the artwork.
